Moodle (pronounced as "mood") stands for Multi-platform Learning Environment and it's a free software platform developed by the Open Source Initiative which provides an interactive learning environment supporting hundreds of platforms including web, mobile apps among others. The purpose behind this is to support educators around world who want learners or users can create online courses through Moodle with ease in their educational process without having time management for them themselves each day at work and also provide tools that help teachers make teaching more efficient by removing the need of paper materials, distractors etc.
